Notre sélection de locations de vacances dans la province de Cadix

El Gastor

El Gastor is a typical whitewashed village of the province of Cadiz, it is affectionately known as the ‘balcony of the white villages’.

Its central location makes it an ideal base to visit
Andalucia: Jerez, Cadiz, Seville, Granada, Malaga and Cordoba, which are all reachable by car. It’s also perfectly placed to explore the other villages on the famous ‘white village route’. It is just 20 minutes from Ronda, at the edge of the Grazalema National Park.

About town
The village is small, but lively and very friendly and offers all the amenities you need for your stay, including shops, butchers, bakers, fishmongers, banks, post office, chemist, medical centre and of course some wonderful tapas bars and restaurants.

A market is held every Thursday and sells everything from fresh produce, to furniture!

The enchanting cobbled streets, are lined with whitewashed houses with dashes of colour from the blooming flower boxes that adorn the window ledges and balconies.

Natural surroundings
Set on the edge of the stunning Sierra de la Grazalema Natural Park, just above the shores of Lake Grazalema, El Gastor is an ideal location for rural and walking tourism.

The local region is a natural treasure, with rugged
mountains, wild flowers, protected forest and birds of pretty.

You can stay in your holiday home and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the location of this village and travel around when you feel like doing something more active.

Places to visit

El Gastor is located 20 kms from the Sierra de la Grazalema Natural Park, 17 kms from Zahara, 15 kms from Algodonales, 33 kms from Ronda, similar white villages in the same area where you can go hiking and rambling along organized routes.

Outdoor pursuits

At Lake Grazalema you can partake in fishing, kayaking and canoeing, or just swimming in the turquoise waters.

Places of Interest
We recommend a visit to the Giant's Dolmen, a fine example of  megalithic art, and El Tajo Algarin, a gorge affording a magnificent
panoramic view.

Beaches
The unspoilt beaches of the Costa de la Luz, are also not too far away, around 60 kilometres, or an hour’s drive.

Cuisine

The village is famous for its olive groves, which produce fine olives and olive oil. Specialties also include chorizo, morcilla (black pudding), chicken with almonds and asparagus with garlic.

Climate
El Gastor enjoys a mild climate and year round temperatures; with little rain and more than 3,000 hours of sun a year.
