Remarques

We welcome families and those who want a relaxing, interesting holiday. No hen or stag parties, or big events. No extra guests are allowed. Each guest must show their passport/ID card to the property managers on arrival, which is registered with the local Guardia Civil. Please ensure you have adequate travel and medical insurance before booking. Also that you will be able to travel to the town this summer.

Noise restriction on the Upper Terrace from 23.00-08.00. A copy of the House Notes & Rules will be sent to the lead guest before arrival. Also information on how to access the house and find parking.

The double beds are King size. The bedrooms sleep up to 7 people. The smaller 4th bedroom has a single bed, plus a travel cot (baby or toddler up to age 3).

There are air conditioning units to the living room and all the bedrooms. These also serve as heaters in winter months. For winter stays, there is a powerful pellet stove in the living room.

Smoking is allowed in moderation on the terraces, but please don't leave any litter.

The house is very very nice, well-located in the old center of Almunecar and nearby the beach. We love this combination. The 2 terraces in the house are very pleasant as well. The house is clean and well-equipped. From what we have seen, Almunecar is a small true Spanish city, not to busy with many locals. Very cosy. Almost all main things are from walking distance of the house. Perfect! We recommend this house whole-heartedly! Unfortunately we could only stay 2 weeks (2nd week with the lock-down) instead of 8 weeks due to the coronavirus. The local agent kept us well-informed. The owner was also very cooperative in this unusual situation. We look forward to fo back and enjoy it all a longer period next year.

I'm so pleased that you and your wife enjoyed the house and town, in the one week of 'real life' you had there. By the second week, you were having to endure the lockdown that had begun in Almunecar (and all over Spain). You were also very cooperative over the situation and we look forward to you coming back to the house around the same time next year.

This was our 5th visit to Carol's lovely house and we would certainly recommend it to others. The old town is a lovely authentic area and we spent evenings watching the sunset on the fabulously sunny roof terrace before heading out for much tapas. Almunecar is a wonderful place! We were welcomed by Sandy and Louisa the house Managers who were lovely and we were provided with a welcome pack of essentials which was great. The house was spotlessly clean. We shall certainly return again as we know that we will have a great time! Thank you to Carol again! Grace and Andrew

We had a lovely, relaxing stay in this historic house, with its beautiful roof terrace. The property managers Gordon and Louisa were fantastic, offering great tips for local restaurants and amenities and even popping round at a moment's notice to sort out extra pillows for us. The very generous welcome pack was much appreciated too! The property was spotless, well-designed and extremely well-equipped - everything from brilliant kitchen equipment to an emergency safety pin! The old town area is a great location, just minutes from cultural sites like the castle and museum, but also a very short walk to the beach and a range of bars and places to eat. We loved the tapas bar in the local park, "Kiosko Ficus" which offers delicious food under the shade of tropical plants.

Almunecar is not for those seeking night life, loud music and beach parties. Especially in the old part of the town where life goes on moreor less at the same tempo as it has done for generations. Here is there very limited access by car and the steep streets mean a lot of carrying of shopping and frequent rests. Once you have found yourself in the area there is basically nowhere that compares. The flat here was typical for the area with a very good qnd relatively secluded terrace overlooking the town and area . We had previously stayed in a house managed by Gordon and his wife so knew we could expect a spotlessly clean house and we were not disappointed. We experienced no problems with the house or the A appliances and would recommend this to others. The bathrooms were rather small but as we were just two persons this did not cause any queues for the toilets.

We're pleased you both enjoyed your stay in our house. I know the hills can be hard work, carrying the shopping and luggage. But the exercise usually makes it all worthwhile! You don't need a car to get around the town, maybe just for some day trips to other areas or historical sites.
