Tarragona has a large number of monuments and tourist attractions concentrated in a relative small area. Iberian civilization remains are plentiful in the whole region, as well as multiple Roman vestiges, especially in Tarragona city, where you can follow the traces of Rome in the Catalonian region. The splendorous past of the city is enclosed in its several well preserved edifices. Reus, home town of the internationally famous Gaudí, is nowadays a centre for Modernism architecture, and a nice city for going shopping. There are also numerous small towns and cities nearby to be explored and lovely bars and restaurants where you can sample the local delicacies. The Port Aventura Amusement Park is a 10-minute ride from the house, and is Spain's largest Theme Park, with its outstanding representation of five diverse worlds ranging from Polynesia to Mexico, to China, to the old American West. Ebro Delta for bird watching, fishing and exploring is located only 60 km South of Tarragona. Cambrils is a lovely fishing town, SALOU has a lively nightlife - both within 10/15 minutes drive. Tarragona city has a large selection of restaurants, shops, bars, malls, fishing harbour and a beach front running parallel to the city. Barcelona is accessible by the local train for approximately 12 Euros return. You can book fishing trips, boat trips, horse riding and other trips through the Tourist Information Office located in Tarragona.
