CENTRAL YET «OFF PISTE»: Ca'n Bovet is located at the very geographical centre of Mallorca, making it an ideal place if you want to enjoy the great variety of the island. The local area and landscape also have plenty of qualities for relaxing days close to the house.

Ca'n Bovet means "The litte oxen's house", indicating the ancient use of the original building on the 10 000 square meters property. This building is now a livingroom, accompanied by two other buildings (year 2001) with two patios, kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

A SPACIOUS HOUSE WITH FOUR BEDROOMS! Woven into the Mallorquin landscape Ca’n Bovet has all its rooms stringed out on one level, for maximum privacy. The wide, open view, facing directly to the South, starts your day with the sun rising on the terrace, closing the day with a nice shady afternoon.

Scandinavian architects Jarmund/Vigsnæs Architects MNAL(in cooperation with Albisu/Pradell Arquitectos, SCP in Barcelona) have focused on positioning the house in the landscape plus the use of natural materials, to create this simple yet modern Finca. Local craftsmen have combined modern comfort with traditional skills through the use of bamboo, wood and local sandstone to create a feeling of well-being and ease.

SLEEPING: The house has 4 double bedrooms (2 of which with walk-in closets). All have cotton bed linen, woollen blankets, superior quality mattresses, cotton towels etc, plus bed lights by each bed for comfortable reading. 1 bedroom with double bed, the rest with twinbeds that works well both as single beds and a double bed

The rooms are naturally ventilated through high ceilings, positioning of windows and the specially designed Persian blinds made from bamboo.

COOKING: A well-designed workspace (with lovely views) for making food with your fellow travellers. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob, electrical oven, dishwasher and large fridge as well as all necessary cutlery and plates. Appliances include a washing machine, iron/ironing board, toaster, juice machine, coffee pots etc.
And if you don't want to cater for yourself, the region has plenty of good restaurants (we have prepared a list of some nice ones) or we can arrange for someone to come and cook for you.

BATHROOMS: The two glass-tiled shower bathrooms are accessible directly from the bedrooms. Fixed and flexible showerheads. (And since the island has too little water we recycle the water from the showers for watering the lemon tree and other plants.)

SWIMMING POOL: The crystalline swimming pool has a length of 14 meters, ranging from 1.2 m to 2 meters depth, and has a separate end (50 cm) for children.

In accordance with our quest for using natural materials, we reduce the chlorine content in the pool with a special rinsing unit which uses salt.

MODERN: Furniture and other installations have all been carefully picked to match the modern expression of the house. Much is made by local carpenters whereas other pieces bear the definitive mark of international designers.

ALMOND TREES: The property used to be an old almond farm. The house is placed between this field and a green terraced hill of large pines. We have been careful not to break any of the original pines and we are replanting some young almonds to keep the landscape in the original shape.

VILLAGE CLOSE BY: The closest village is Sineu (approx. 2 km), the geographic centre of Mallorca. Here you will find all necessary shops as well as a historical and very lively food and livestock market every Wednesday (actually since mid-13th century!).

Hop on one of our 12 bikes and take the pictoresque ride to town in the morning to get some fresh bread from the bakery, or take an afternoon walk. The area has a lot of small roads, both paved and gravel.

In Inca (10 km) you will find many leather factory outlets (among these the popular Camper Factory outlet) as well as full-size supermarkets and prêt-a-porter shops.

The city of Palma is about 30 minutes away by car and 45 minutes by train.

Nearest beach is Alcudia, a 25 minutes drive. You will reach the calas in the east coast and the mountains on the west coast in less than an hour.
