Casa Miró has been restored and you will now find a very modern house with outdoor swimmingpool and in tota eight bedroms (7 double and one triple) and 7 bathrooms. The interior design is beautiful since the owners has a brilliant sense for the details.
The garden is large and has plenty of room for playing ball. The outdoor BBQ provides the perfect spot for the long warm summer nights.
The house provides a perfect base for relaxation and a place you will love to return to after a long day discovering Catalonia. The nearest town Gironella is only three km. away. It is a cosy town with a lively shopping street on one side of the Llobregat river and with the antique village centre and the cathedral on the other side, where the weekly market day takes place.
In 2008, Josep and Silvia have restored the house, by changing the antique unused stable to a new part with three new double rooms with bathrooms ensuite, a big, open kitchen , a beautiful dining table, high quality lounge furniture and best of all, panorama windows providing you with a beautiful view over the area. The changes has extended the capacity from 11 persons to 17 persons in 7 double rooms (5 with bathrooms ensuite) and a triple room. All changes have been made with respect for the original building, and unite perfectly antique and modern.
The house is very privately situated, as nearest neighbour is 300 metres away. It has a large garden with a big lawn. There is a covered terrace close to the swimming pool, and a new terrace is being constructed close to the dining room and the kitchen.

THE REGION
The region Berguedá where the house is situated, where the Llobregat river makes its way from the Pyrenees down towards Barcelona. The landscape is hilly and the altitude is 500-600 metres above sea-level. Although very popular as weekend retreat for people from Barcelona, the region has not a lot of tourism. When you are on vacation here, you simply blend in and participate in the local life in the villages and towns in the area.
In the villages of Casserres and Montmajor, you vill find a bakery a small grocery shop a bar and a restaurant. The two small towns Gironella and Puig Reig are situated on the bank of the Llobregat river. Here, you find several restaurants, shops and smaller supermarkets. They are both very lively towns, but be aware of the siesta. The regional capitol is Berga, which is a big town with 20.000 inhabitants. Here, you find a charming town centre with walking street and rambla, shops, restaurants and cafés, and in the outskirts, there are some big supermarkets for large shopping. Also, Berga has a very good tourist office, which is a very good point of departure for the vacation in the area.
The region is great for outdoor activities, walks, cycling, canoeing and many other things, and the location centrally in Catalonia, gives you the perfect base for a varied vacation, from the nature in the Pyrenees to the cultural experiences in Barcelona and the big towns of the area.
