Villa de vacances à Chiclana de la Frontera

A modern luxury villa with chic modern decor. Set in a walled garden with its own 8 x 4 m swimming pool, Casa Soluna is an ideal location to have a fantastic holiday. The poolside area is perfect for lounging on the sunbeds or lunching al fresco under the pergola. The porch area at the front of the house is a lovely spot to chill in the evenings with a glass of the local sherry. A short drive takes you to the famous 8 km long blue flag Barossa beach or the town centre with its´fantastic food market. 2 minutes walk to the local ´venta´which is a pub/restaurant open for all meals and drinks 6 days a week. A very short drive to several other local ´ventas´, a local shop and pharmacy. Use the provided (2) sets of golf clubs if you fancy a game in one of the many local golf courses. There are at least 20 golf course withing driving distance. If you need to stay in touch there´s a computer with internet access. T.V. is Sky freeview plus the European Astra satellite system which has thousands of European channels in all languages.

The villa is located on a tarmaced road in the quiet but convenient area of Pago del Humo in Chiclana.

The Accommodation
The main bedroom, which overlooks the front porch, is very spacious and light with a chic boutique style decor. There is a king size bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers and console. There is ample lighting, air-conditioning/heating and a ceiling fan.
The en suite marble bathroom is airy, bright and well lit with a corner bath/shower and ample storage space.

The 2nd bedroom has twin beds (excellent quality, built for adults), a built-in wardrobe, a chest of drawers, air-conditioning/heating and a ceiling fan/light. It´s a very pretty room overlooking the front porch.

The 3rd bedroom is decorated in gorgeous jewel colours and has 2 beds (excellent quality, built for adults), built-in wardrobes, a dressing table with drawers, air-conditioning/heating and a ceiling fan/light. It is adjacent to the main bathroom.

The main bathroom is fully tiled with a full bath/shower. It has good lighting and ample storage.

The designer kitchen is very large by Chiclana standards. It has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, double Belfast sink along with all the cooking ware, dishware, cutlery and cooking implements that you could possibly need. In addition there is a kettle, coffee maker and toaster. There´s a large marble breakfast bar with stools. The kitchen window overlooks the pool area and the kitchen door leads out to the kitchen patio.

The Salon
The salon is a gorgeous sitting cum dining room of large proportions. It has French doors leading out to the pool. There are 2 TV satellite systems. One is a Sky freeview system with all the BBCs, Channel 4s and 5s plus the ITVs. The 2nd system is an Astra system which delivers thousands of European TV channels in countless languages including French, German, Dutch, Spanish and many more. In addition there is a laptop computer with internet access so you can check your mail, check in for your flights or surf the net (no downloading available). The salon has air-conditioning/heating and a ceiling fan.

Outside
The slightly raised pool is 8m x 4m with Roman steps and an outdoor shower. At one end of the pool there are sunloungers (6) with beach towels provided. At the other end is a pergola (with retractable canvas roofing) with a dining table and 6 chairs. Alternatively you might like to dine on the adjacent kitchen patio with its BBQ. Also there is an outside
toilet where the washing machine is located. The pool area has sun from early morning until early evening. The kitchen patio is in full sun all day.

Half of the walled garden is laid to lawn and the other half is gravelled. The west facing front porch has a glass table and chairs and is a quiet place to enjoy the shade during the heat of the day or to enjoy a cool drink as the sun goes down.

There is secure parking for 2 (normal sized ) cars and further parking is available 30m along the street.

There is a wealth of things to do in this lovely part of Spain. For the active there´s golf, tennis, riding, diving, windsurfing, surfing, walking, cycling and hiking. There are several natural parks including Grazalema, Alcornocales and the Doñana natural reserve. There´s also some lovely walks around Conil and Trafalgar.

For sightseeing and cultural visits there´s something for everyone. Cadiz, the very user-friendly provicial capital, Jerez with its world famous sherry bodegas, equestrian show and flamenco, Seville has a marvellous cathedral, the Giralda and the lovely old town of Santa Cruz. Along the coast there´s Bolonia with fantastic Roman ruins (the finest on the Iberian peninsula), Tarifa - the windsurfing mecca. Don´t miss the pueblos blancos (white villages) in the surrounding hills - Medina Sidonia, Vejer de la Frontera to name but two.

For sporting enthusiasts there is the motor circuit where the Formula 1 teams practise and the Spanish Moto Grand Prix is held. If you´re a football follower it´s fun to catch a game in Cadiz.

Eating Out
Casa Soluna is just 2 minutes walk from Venta Florentina which caters to visitors and locals alike. It´s a great place to meet the locals and try the local sherries. You may want to visit one of the bodegas in Chiclana to try our local sherries. In the immediate area there are several ventas all serving tasty local food. For a more sophisticated night out you can go to the resort area of Novo Sancti Petri or some fine restaurants and tapas bars in the town centre.
