Peniscola is an ideal location for couples or families seeking a relaxing or an adventurous coastline offers the nearby quiet coves or award winning sandy beaches .
The constant mild climate makes for an ideal all year holiday destination.
The sand/shingle coves 5-10 mins. walk are great for fishing,sunbathing,snorkelling and the Serra d,irta has a spectacular coastline popular for walkers ,cyclists or swimming in the crystal clear sea .
The costs for dining out and groceries are excellent and many people recommend the menu of the day on offer in each restaurant -where a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine , water and coffee is from 8 euros per person.
In the town centre there are facilities to rent bicycles, quads,motorbikes and car hire .
There is a promenade along the seafront with cycle/walkway ,bars ,restaurants,traditional tapas bars.
The South and North beaches offer a variety of watersports, children's activities,parasols,sunloungers as well as scenic boat trips.
Peniscola has a working fishing harbour .You can hire a boat to go fishing,a scenic trip or even buy fish fresh off the boats when they return each afternoon
The old part of Peniscola is known as the
" City in the sea " steeped in history ,fabulous viewing points,cobbled pedestrian only streets lined with bars restaurants,lots of music and unique shops to explore by day or night.A visit to the Castle is a must see.
The main airports are Reus or Valencia both about an hour away .Barcelona and Girona 2.30hrs and Alicante 3hrs. .
