The villa is set in 5,000m2 of private olive groves, secured with electronic gates, in tranquil surroundings with stunning views of the mountain pine forest, yet is only 3km from the village of Carratraca with a selection of bars, restaurants and luxury spa baths. Fantastic walks direct from the villa. The villa has an rustic style, Andalucian beamed kitchen with modern fittings including microwave, washing machine, large fridge freezer and full oven.
The lounge is comfortably furnished with leather sofas around a feature log fireplace- very cosy in winter.
The villa has a pretty terrace with stunning views, through the olive trees to the pine covered mountains. It is decorated in typical Andaluz fasion, with brightly coloured flowerpots on the patio and walls. Olden wooden ploughs sit on the low walls, adding to the rustic charm. As well as providing a great place for the last drink of the evening, it also provides a good shaded area to escape the sun at the height of summer andf there is a gas bbq and table and chairs for al fresco eating.
The 8 x 4 m attractively tiled swimming pool is at the side of the villa on another terrace. This has Roman steps for easy access and is surrounded with a sun-bathing area, sun loungers, wooden table and chairs. There is a pagoda for shade during the hot summer months. There is a garden with flowers, banana plants and palms at one side of the villa, whilst the remaining grounds are mainly well matured olive trees with beautiful silvery leaves. Some lemon and orange trees line the private driveway from the tall security gates to the villa itself.

This is a beautiful romantic setting and would be ideal for a couple wanting a peaceful, away from it all break or for a family of 4. As the property is secured with electronic gates it is a very safe location for children, (although clearly care will need to be taken around the pool)with plenty of space for them to play.


From the villa there are fantastic walks up through the pine forests. Slightly further afield (10 minutes in the car) you are on the edge of the Andalucian lake district with turquoise lakes where there is swimming, fishing or pedaloes to hire. Beautiful are for walking and bird-watching. There is a good chice of restaurants around the lakes with great views.

The village is a pretty white village, typical of the area, with winding streets, but it boasts over 6 restaurants and a 5 star hotel and thermal spa where you can pamper yourself for a day. Prices are reasonable, with a 4 hour session, including 2 treatments and a full body massage costing about 65 pounds, whie a 90 minute session just using thee thermal pools, is only 15€.

Out of season it makes a good base for climbers visiting the nearby El Chorro gorge, or fishing enthusiasts visiting the Ardales lakes.

We can organise walks with an experienced guide and provide information about good walks in the area and we can also arrange hire of mountain bikes with delivery to the villa from 10 euros a day.

Whilst car hire is recommended, we can arrange airport transfers and day trips and bus timetables if you prefer not to drive

Roland and I fell in love with this wonderful part of Spain about 9 years ago and bought a holiday property for ourselves. We found ourselves returning more and more frequently and in 2005 we decided to take the plunge and moved here permanently and have since run a small holiday rental company specialising in this unspolit part of Spain-the Andalucian lake district- "the REAL Spain!"- only 45 mins from Malaga but a completely different world.
