Both cottages offer comfortable accommodation for up to 5 people, with cosy living rooms with DVD players and woodburners, well equipped kitchens with dining table and chairs, a double bedroom (El Establo has an extra toilet and wash basin) and a twin bedded room, plus shower room. El Jaral apartment has a large twin/double bedroom with 2 extra small beds for children if needed, plus shower room, kitchen/dining/living area. Outside all accommodations have private patio areas with seating for dining and relaxing out doors plus gas bbq. El Establo has a walled courtyard and roof terrace. There is a private heated pool for all year round use, with extensive terrace area offering unsurpassed mountain views. The surrounding gardens have been planted with shrubs and flowers and the car parking area is a beautiful restored cobbled threshing circle.
We are able to offer accommodation with or without equestrian activities to suit all tastes and all abilities. For those of you not interested in horses, do not be put off - the riding stables are set amidst landscaped gardens and merely add to the overall charm of the place - we are not a busy riding school - we are a private riding establishment used mainly by our own family and guests.

Our mountain location close to the village of Villanueva Del Trabuco is an absolute paradise for walkers, hikers birdwatchers, painters, photographers and climbers. We also offer mountain bike hire free of charge to guests and this is an ideal way to explore locally, and of course country hacks for horse riders. Whether you like walking, riding or cycling, we can even provide you with a guide to show you the best places to go. . We also have some amazing mountain walks for the more serious hikers among you giving you spectacular views right to the coast.
Other activities such as Scuba Diving, boat safaris to see Dolphins can be arranged.
Visitors in August can expect to watch the nightly display of shooting stars, which occurs every year and is at it’s best between 8-15 of this month.
Our away from it all location remains completely untouched by tourism and is very Spanish. Those visiting at fiesta time (fiestas occur frequently) will be able to enjoy the best of Spanish tradition, the parades, the women in traditional dress and the caballeros on horseback proudly dancing their Andalucian horses. You can sample traditional cuisine, or join in the village picnic day - when everything closes and the whole population head into the countryside and set up their tables and barbeques and just have a great time in a way we British seem to have forgotten.
A little further a-field you can visit some of Spain’s most historic cities, such as Cordoba, Ronda and Seville and of course Granada which not only has the splendorous Alhambra Palace but also boasts a superb ski resort. All of these are within easy driving distance
It is quite possible, in springtime, to ski in the morning and spend the afternoon sunbathing on the beach! We are close to the renowned beauty spot ‘El Torcal’ and the famous flamingo migration lake is also nearby.
Those wishing to dine out will find an excellent choice of restaurants available to suit all budgets and tastes. Self- caterers will find everything they need in the nearby town, or can venture a little further to find a shopping mall and hypermarket. Fresh bread is delivered to the farm every other day, and fresh free-range eggs from our own hens are available free of charge. Children love to help collect the eggs and feed the animals. You can even collect your own fresh spring water locally as the source of the Guadalahorce is a short walk away. The water supply at the farm is direct from the spring.
All in all you will find a quiet relaxed atmosphere and witness a lifestyle still very simple, with herds of goats crossing the land daily in the summer and entire families turning out to help with the olive harvest taking their picnic lunches with them as they did in pre-war England. It is a charming lifestyle that we are fortunate to enjoy everyday. We look forward to spending it with you.

•Upstairs bedroom in one of the cottages,El Granero Viejo is not suitable for children under 5 due to spiral staircase and low ceiling.(young children could sleep downstais with parents upstairs, we can make the twin beds in to a kingsize) El Jaral apartment has low ceilings in some places

Horse riding at Cortijo Los Lobos

We are a Natural horsemanship establishment and believe in our horses comfort and wellbeing at all times. We believe, from customers comments , that the riding here at Cortijo Los Lobos is hard to beat for terrain and views. We have open fields, cool shady pine forests, olive groves and streams. You choose the speed you are comfortable with. We are very flexible and are happy to fit your riding in when you want it, no strict timetables apply. We offer a 10 hour package bookable in advance which works out cheaper, or you can pay by the hour when you are here, depending on how much riding you want to do. Mountain bikes available free of charge for non riding members of your family.
We are great fans of Monty Roberts and use his methods for our training. We have a round pen and if you would like to have a go at “join up” we will be happy to show you how and let you try your hand.

We have a selection of horses to suit all abilities. It is very important however that we are given an accurate account of your riding abilities in order to select the correct horse for you.

We do have a selection of hats, boots and jodhpurs for customer use but cannot guarantee to fit all sizes.
Please note that as Andalusian horses are not particularly big, normally 15hh – 15.2hh
We cannot cater for anyone weighing more than about 13 stone. Apologies for any disappointment.
We have full public liability insurance but we do advise that you take out your own
Travel insurance and bring with you form E111 (English only)
