GENERAL INFORMATION
A lovely authentic townhouse in , the historical part of the town, neighbour to the moorish castle, overlooking the town, the Mediterranean, the tropical valleys and the majestic mountains - an yet only 5-10 minutes walk from the idyllic center of the town with market, shops, cafés, restaurants, plazas.
The house has 3 floors,and the streets that leads to it are steep, so it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
THE HOUSE
75 m2 plus the terrace. It has a modernized combined kitchen/dining room with all modern facilities (refrigerator, freezer, oven cheramic cooking plate, tv, radio, cd-player); a big bathroom with bathtub, shower, washing machine; two airconditioned bedrooms each with two beds (an extra bed place can be arranged), one of the rooms with its own little toilet; 15m2 terrace with marvellous views over the Mediterranean, the mountains and the town.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The house is next to a picturesque plaza where the children play in the afternoon and the locals meet to chat in the shadow. No car traffic is possible close to the house, so the place is very suitable for children. The neighbourhood is extremely idyllic with narrow, twisted and steep streets with flowerings plants and trees and archeological remains popping up everywhere. Descending to one side you end close to the beach - descending to the other you end on the townhall square in the very center of the town.
THE TOWN AND THE SURROUNDINGS
The town is beyond doubt the most picturesque and charming on the whole coast - among other things due to the fact that is has not to any significant degree been spoiled by the tourist industry. It has conserved all its charm intact lying between two arms of the fertile tropical valley reaching out from between the mountains. From the beach you can walk in the dry riverbed directly into the mountains. In the valley - remains also in the town - you can see roman aquaducts in the plantations with the typical avocado and chirimoya trees.
THE TOWN is especially in the summer very lively. All the year you can sit outdoor in the outdoor bars and cafés, and the shops and the market are always busy with the affairs of the local. In the summer the town grows to the ouble siza first of all because of many Spanish tourists. After enjoying the popular life it is wonderful to be able to withdraw to the quiet of the old quarter where the noice from the night life does not bother.
THE BEACHES are typical Mediterranean: coarse sand or stone - and wonderful fresh and clean water, many places suitable for snorkeling.
Only about 50 kms away you have the Sierra Nevada mountains with its eternal snow - so you are in the area where you can SKI in the morning and bathe in the sea at the coast in the afternoon. Here you also find GRANADA with one of the wonders of the world - the moorish palace ALHAMBRA.
THE CLIMATE is subtropical - it rarely descends under 10 degrees celcius, and even in winter the average temperatur is around 18 degrees.
