Bolnuevo was a sleepy little fishing village on the shore of the Gulf of Mazarron, just to the west of the large port of Puerto de Mazarr?n. Small boats were launched from the beautiful 1.5 km (1 mile) long sandy beach and nets were laid in the crystal-clear waters along the fishermens houses clustered along the back of the beach. Some still remain today. Such fishing still takes place (indeed it is sometimes possible to eat from the days catch in local restaurants) but the village has now grown into a holiday resort that is very popular with Spanish families, especially in July and even on the biggest Saints Day holiday in August there is still plenty of room on the beach!There is an ice cream parlour and numerous bars, cafees and restaurants, some with live music or discos for dancing (particularly in the summer months). Holiday makers of other nationalities are now beginning to discover Bolnuevo and its blue-flag beach. There is an increasing number of places where English is the main language to be heard. So while many of the restaurants serve typically Spanish menus, others specialise in English, German, Belgian, Chinese or even Thai food. The prices are equally varied but it is still possible to have a good Menu del Dia (three courses with wine) for 8€ (under 6€). To the west of Bolnuevo, there are many kilometres of totally unspoilt coastline with, except for the one small village of Calnegre, no occupied buildings until you get to Cabo Cope 20 kilometres (12 miles) away. [Cabo Cope is the distant, large flat topped rock framed in the fork of the left hand tree.]Beyond Calnegre the coast is low and flat (and a designated Turtle Breeding Area). But between Bolnuevo and Calnegre there are 15 small sandy coves served by an unmade road along the low cliffs. One of the most beautiful of these coves is Percheles. This palm-lined beach has a large car park and is the only one accessible by a metalled road. Like the main beach in Bolnuevo it is watched over by lifeguards in the summer.
The village is developing as a family summer resort with a mile-long beautiful sandy beach, local bars and restaurants.

Interesting information

Local Supermarket - There is a very well stocked supermarket in front of the house, it has an excellent delicatessen counter, and fresh meat counter as well as fruit and vegetables. Locally produced as well as imported alcoholic drinks are on sale, together with household items, toiletries, and beach goods. There are also a couple of other shops selling beach goods and different items. There are many shops in the nearby town of Puerto Mazarron as well as a large supermarket and a daily fish market.

Restaurants/Cafes/Bars- There is a very good Chinese Restaurant very close by on the main road as you enter the village on the right hand side, about 3 minutes walk away. There are also several other restaurants and bars on the main road in the village. Plonkers is an English owned restaurant, where you can buy traditional Sunday lunch (you have to book first). There is also a German owned bar and several traditional Spanish bars and restaurants. If you want more choice then nearby Puerto Mazarron has many bars and restaurants.

Tourist Information Office ? This is in the centre of Puerto Mazarron.

Sunday Market ? Very colourful and large market selling everything on Sunday Mornings in Puerto Mazarron, near the bus station, you can catch a bus from the village bus stop which will take you to the bus station in Puerto Mazarron, when you arrive, just follow the direction in which most people are walking, as they will be going to the market.

Buses- Buses can be taken from the bus stop in the village on the main road just before you get to the supermarket. Buses into nearby Puerto Mazarron run approximately every hour (see bus timetable in drawers in the lounge) and cost 0.90 cents. You can also take buses from the village to the naval city of Cartahena which has the Spanish Naval Headquaerters, large marina and port, museums and many shops. Buses to the capital of the province Murcia can also be taken from the village bus stop but tickets for Cartahena and Murcia must be purchased from the bust station in Puerto Mazarron.

Taxis- There is a taxi rank in Puerto Mazarron at the end of the main promenade in the port. They are approximately 6 euros to the village if you can?t be bothered to take the bus.

Cash Point and Banks ? There is a cashpoint in the Campsite in the village, this is also on the way into the village on the left hand side on the main road. There are several banks and cashpoints in nearby Puerto Mazarron.

Facilities of the AoartmentFacilities of the Apartment-
Hot Water ? this is heated by the boiler in the utility area of the kitchen.

Television ? The television has Sky News, EuroSports, BBC World, CNN and Spanish channels

The Swimming Pool ? is a 3meters,
You will need to take your own sunbathing equipment to lie around the pool such as towels, inflatable beds etc. Inflatable lie-lows and portable picnic chairs are in the apartment for use around the pool and on the beach. There are two showers at either side of the pool and a children?s section.
The local AreaThe bay of Mazarron hosts some lovely little fishing villages, and small coves, as well as the town of Puerto Mazarron with its lovely beachfront promenade, many bars shops, and restaurants. There are many beaches in the area, which one can walk from one to the other, mostly sandy. There are also mountains backing the village of Bolnuevo and other parts in the bay, the walks up the mountains provide spectacular views of the surrounding area.

The house is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared east facing swimming pool, a east facing garden, a summer house, a east facing patio area, a east facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views. If you are driving there is a personal parking.

30% deposit on booking, balance 2 weeks prior to departure. Deposit refundable only if subsequent booking obtained. A damages deposit of 100€ to be included in the balance but repaid after the holiday when the property has been checked. Payment by secure on line credit card transfer (preferred) or electronic transfer. A booking is not confirmed until receipt of the completed booking form & deposit - although we may agree to give first refusal on request. Only those included on the booking form will be permitted to stay & beds made up accordingly - if you wish to add to your party this must be with our agreement. The oldest adult in a party must be over 30 years old. Families preferred - . Saturday is the usual changeover day in summer months but there may be some flexibility. Access is usually from 4pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure.
