Can Mayol is a traditionally built and beautifully furnished two bedroom (plus loft bedroom) Finca set amongst a pretty garden of citrus fruits, palms, olive trees and grapevines. The historic finca is beautifully sited in the hillside of the village of Fornalutx, offering peace and tranquility, yet only a 2/3 minute walk down to the Plaza for a hive of activity when you want it! It has amazing views across the valley and mountain range and wakes you only to the sound of the neighbouring wildlife and roaming sheep. The large (15 x 23ft) private saltwater swimming pool has its own dining terrace and sunlounging area offering total privacy and attracts the sun from dawn to dusk.
The internal layout is spacious and bright, with exposed beams and tasteful furniture throughout. It is beautifully decorated with solid teak furniture and textiles, homely detail and rooms are well proportioned with excellent living space. It is but a 2 minute walk to the pretty Village Square/Plaza with its church, bars (4), restaurants (8), shops (3) and supermarket. This is a fantastic area for walking or just relaxing whilst enjoying the marvellous views and local hospitality. The two beaches at the Port of Soller are a 6-10 minute drive and are sited immediately in front of a pedestrianised boulevard of open-air cafes and restaurants. The marina and harbour bustles with activity and luxury yachts. Both the Port and the Town of Soller also offer many fantastic restaurants and bars, shopping and island activities. A fun way to reach the Port is by the historic tram from the centre of Soller.
Mallorca hosts many Fiestas throughout the year and there's no better place to soak up the atmosphere!

Bedroom 1 has a very large double bed with mountain views through the floor to ceiling shutters and a high pitch beamed ceiling.
Bedroom 2 has a very large double bed (twins - can be separated) leading onto a private citrus terrace, plus en suite bathroom and dressing area.
The galleried loft bedroom suite accessed via a spiral staircase from Bedroom 1, and edged by intricate ballustrade, boasts a very private balcony perfect for leisurely mornings, giving direct entry/access onto the top olive terrace. It has a large en suite bathroom.
The Dining room with original stone floor, original well (secured) and wood burning fireplace seats 6/8.
The Lounge is tastefully designed with solid teak furniture and textiles, ample seating and a feature wood burning fireplace. It has 3 sofas, one of which is a small double sofabed. Opening onto a large terrace with seating for the early evening sun.
Adjacent to the Dining room is a fully fitted and appointed hand built wooden kitchen, opening onto a wisteria & honeysuckle clad terrace with separate outside utility area.
The gardens are terraced in traditional dry stone walling, with an abundance of citrus fruit for freshly squeezed breakfast juice, a tiny but characteristic vineyard, mature olives and hammocks for lazy days. There are four terraces in total plus private wooden decked large balcony from the loft bedroom. The pool attracts the sun from dawn to dusk and has its own dining terrace and secluded sunlounging area.

In the interest of other guests, this is a strictly non smoking house.

Regrettably due to the location, age and hillside terrain of the Finca and gardens, with many terrace levels externally, we would not suggest it suitable for active toddlers.

For winter bookings, logs for the 2 woodburners are provided and delivered in bulk for your arrival and charged to you at cost. These supplement the perimeter heating.

Access Routes: - The property can be accessed from the main Village plaza below alongside the Church and clusters of local mallorcan houses covered with bougainvillea. It takes 4 mins to walk up to the house and 2 mins back down again. Alternatively from a small track that leads off the village parking area below, that leads you to within 60 metres of the house and up a few shallow steps. A footpath and steps also lead down to the house from the road and car bays above. There are 3 car parks, pay and display in the village. There are also random car spaces on the road above.

Booking notes
50% deposit required on booking. This will be forfeited if the booking is cancelled within 8 weeks of the rental date. Outside this period half will be refunded. The balance is payable either prior or on arrival. There is a cleaning charge per person of 20 euros per stay. A fully refundable 150 Euro deposit will be required against breakages and damage.

All linen and house towels inclusive and replenished weekly.
Pool towels inclusive and replenished per stay.
Cleaning charged at 20 euros per head and undertaken once per stay ready for arrival. Additional cleans can be arranged separately.

Logs for winter lets will be charged at cost.

Ideally the Finca sleeps 6 but can extend to 7/8 people by arrangement. Supplements will apply to persons 7 & 8.
