The Property in Detail:

Casa Maria offers a rare opportunity to experience a true beach holiday. It sits on the promenade in the centre of the popular town of Los Urrutias on the edge of the Mar Menor sea - Europes largest salt water lagoon. This traditionally built Spanish home has been tastefully renovated to the highest standards and provides the ideal accommodation for a relaxing holiday on a premium beach.

The property boasts gorgeous views across the Mar Menor from both the front patio and the roof terrace and, with the beach just a few paces away and no road to cross, provides the base for a wonderfully relaxing and safe holiday. Even the more reluctant bather will enjoy the calm waters of the Mar Menor, which has water temperatures often several degrees above those of the Mediteranean and gently sloping sand underfoot.

Casa Maria is a very comfortable little house; it is furnished to a high standard and well-equipped. It has air-conditioning to keep you cool in the summer and underfloor heating to warm you during the winter evenings. There is one double bedroom with a kingsize bed, and an 18 X 12 6 (max) living room with two full-sized double sofa beds. A corridor leads to the kitchen and a bathroom with a good-sized shower. Outside, there is an enclosed 18 x 12 front patio, directly off the sea-front promenade.

Casa Marias crowning glory, however, is the full-width, private roof terrace from which you can gaze out over the beautiful Mar Menor with its many islands and La Manga strip in the far distance. The partially-covered terrace is ideal for sunbathing, enjoying a romantic evening meal or just relaxing in the shade with a long cool drink.

Casa Maria sleeps a maximum of 4 people. It has an alarm system for your security and a safe is installed for your use. Clean linen and towels* are provided at the start of your stay (*not beach towels - please bring your own). A washing machine and clothes drying/ironing facilities are provided in the house for your use. The property managers can arrange a change of linen and towels or an extra clean of the house at your request - payable locally. Casa Maria is a non-smoking property and pets are not permitted.


Los Urrutias is a small traditional seaside town...

... with a number of local amenities - bars/eating places, a small supermarket, a bank, a newsagent, etc. and a lovely church which is well worth a look inside. Just north of Los Urrutias is the larger seaside town of Los Alcazares which bustles with life in the summer months. Here you can find clothes shops, souvenir shops, internet cafes, street bars and cafes, restaurants catering for all tastes and much more. Further afield are the much larger historic towns of Cartagena and Murcia with their cathedrals, old narrow streets and castle remains - well worth a visit.

Sun, Sea, Sand ... and Golf!

If you are a golfer, you will be in your element in this area. There are no less than 3 courses at the world famous La Manga golf club which is less than 15km away. A further three lie on the south side of Torrevieja (all approx. 40km away) - the picturesque Campoamor championship course and the world famous Villamartin and Las Ramblas courses - and a new course is currently under construction in nearby Los Alcazares. Between them, these courses offer a challenge for players of all abilities.
