Townhouse in peaceful surroundings for rent in La Herradura

Lovely and spacious townhouse located slightly back from the coast in a quiet and charming setting overlooking the sea and surrounding mountains.

The house is well decorated and offers a perfect setting for up to 4 persons with living room with dining area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and 2 terraces and garden.

The house is south facing and lovely bright with sun from morning to evening. The living room has direct exit to the terrace and garden where there is room for enjoying the sun and also find a place in the shadow for the "siesta". The garden is a lovely playroom especially for small children.

At a short distance from the house is the area's community pool, and for those interested in sports can the area’s tennis courts, gym and padel courts be used by reservation.

The nearest beach is only 10 minutes away if you are walking and can be reached in less than 3 minutes by car. Along the coast, along the old road to Nerja, there are plenty of large and small beaches - many very picturesque situated in small coves cut into the rocks.

The city of La Herradura is only 2 km from the house. It's small enough to still be authentic Spanish, where you usually encounter more locals than tourists,
but large enough to offer the facilities that are helping to make your stay an enjoyable one, including a number of fine restaurants and bars, fruit and fish market, shops and supermarkets as well as other facilities such as, snorkeling, windsurfing and hiking.

The surrounding area
Almuñecar in itself is a historic Spanish city with a beautiful Moorish castle. The most attractive part of Almuñecar is the old pueblo (the historic center), which is most accessible on foot. A nice way to spent a few hours is wandering around the city's maze of streets filled with shops and cozy tapas bars.
Almuñecar is known for its many beaches and most are at a distance of 5-15 minutes by car. On the beaches there are many bars / restaurants and at the beaches near the center are nightclubs which open into the early morning hours.

Other attractions include:
Aquarium, one of the largest in Europe with exotic fish and fish from the Mediterranean.

Bird Park (Loro Sexi park) with parrots and other exotic birds.

Aqua Park - Water Park (open during summer season) with numerous water rides, pools and bars

The municipal market, featuring fresh fruit, meat, fish, flowers and plants

Friday Market and Sunday Market (flea market)

La Herradura
A beautiful village with the horseshoe-shaped bay with a fantastic long beach and the wide range of chiringuitos (or beach bars) are as mentioned above very nearby. Also in La Herradura you will find an ample opportunity for watersports with both windsurfing and diving rental. The Bay of La Herradura is one of the prettiest bays along the south coast of Spain, and boasts a 2 km long sandy beach. The village presents the typical whitewashed buildings and settles beautifully up the gentle slopes leading up from the beach.

Nerja / Frigiliana
Nerja is a lovely popular resort about 20 minutes from Almuñecar, famous for its Balcon de Europa in the center and its beautiful beaches. Nerja is home to the famous caves which belong to some of the largest in the world and is definitely worth visiting. In the mountains north of Nerja, you will find the attractive white village of Frigiliana, which is built in typical Andalusian style with many renovated houses with charming shops and restaurants.

Salobrena
Known as the jewel of the Costa Tropical. Salobrena is a whitewashed village that clings to the large rock slightly back from the shoreline, topped by a Moorish castle and surrounded by lush sugar cane plantations.

Granada
Those who appreciate Spain's heritage and history will love ancient Granada and its world famous Alhambra Palace. Granada is one of the classic monumental cities of Andalucia, and situated in more than 700 meters above sea level. Granada offers besides the Alhambra Palace (remember to reserve tickets in advance, otherwise there is no access), a wealth of historical attractions including the cathedral, and a charming downtown with lots of shops and cozy tapas bars.

Nature lovers are just minutes away from the Natural Park of Pena Escrita, the beautiful, unspoiled mountain of Cerro Gordo and fantastic hiking in Alpujarras.

Skiing in Sierra Nevada
Just over an hour's drive away is the famous ski resort, Sierra Nevada (open from November to April). Europe's most southern winter resort has skiing at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, combined with brilliant sunshine most of the winter.
