Gite rural de vacances à Jijona

Large country house set in the mountains above Alicante with stunning views of the surrounding moutains and countryside all the way to the sea.
Traditional Spanish house with very thick walls to help keep out the heat in Summer and very large rooms with original tiled walls and floors in some parts. House is fully centrally heated so nice and warm in Winter and due to the mountain location never gets too hot in Summer.
Is incredibly peaceful and the perfect place for a relaxing get away from it all holiday whilst still being close to town with all the usual amenities.
House is welcoming and comfortable so a perfect place for families to relax and not have to worry about children breaking anything.
Outdoors there is a courtyard area with traditional barbeque, oven and sink.
To the front of the house is a beautiful patio covered with grape vines with a large centre table - perfect for breakfast and enjoying the views. The grapevine covered walkway to the side of the house has a traditional tiled wall which is a lovely place to sit with a nice glass of wine or for an afternoon siesta and the old tiled sinks give a lovely traditional feeling.
The pool area is completely enclosed and the pool is enormous - 10m by 15m. There is a diving board at the top end as the pool is 3m deep. Shallow end is 1.2m. The beautiful local beach is only 15 minutes away and the lovely mountain breeze ensures you dont overheat even in the height of Summer.
Land is planted with olives, almonds and citrus trees. Depending on the time of year you visit there will be fruit trees which you are welcome to pick which include cherries, peaches, nisperos, pomegranates and paraguas amongst others. Children can run wild in the orchard area and there is a pond generally well populated with frogs and dragonflies.
The house is the perfect place for a family get away in the most beautiful surroundings but still near to all the facilities and activities should you want them. The town of Jijona is famous for Turron and Ice-Cream and both are in plentiful supply in the town which is 5 minutes drive or a 15 minute walk.

We loved it so much that we decided to keep it when we returned to London. It's such a beautiful house that it is a shame for it to be empty and so we rent it out to fill it with noise and laughter, the way it's meant to be.
