Perfect for countryside activities such as walking and cycling. Great water sports - sailing, windsurfing., water skiing or exploring in a canoe. The climate is ideal for sightseeing and touring.
For walkers and mountain bikers there are tracks which will take you high up into the beautiful landscape, studded with almond and olive groves, as well as orchards of avocado and mango. Bikes can be hired locally, with or without guides – please ask us for details.
25 mins away is a British/Scandinavian owned Activity Centre offering Mountain Biking, Road Cycling, Hiking, Triathlon, and Personal Fitness Training. Whether an individually tailored, leisurely guided tour or a full-on extreme expedition. From beginner to expert, you'll certainly enjoy the landscape.
Almuñécar town with its mix of fabulous restaurants and tapas bars, some with real Flamenco, is a 5 minute drive, or 25 minute walk away (uphill on the way back!). There is an open air market every Friday, great for leather goods, and a car boot, craft and flea market on Sunday mornings. The water park with its slides and flumes is open from June to September, loads of fun for kids and adults alike.
The town benefits from a scuba diving school and paragliding centre. Tennis and Padel (like squash but gentler) are available. Horse riding on the mountain tracks is easily arranged. There is also a wildlife park a 40 minute drive into the mountains. For golfers the Moriscos Club, the course weaving its way alongside the coast, is 20 minutes away.
The ancient moorish castle, where the Sheikhs of Granada used to spend their summers, is required viewing. And for shoppers and browsers the narrow streets in the old arab quarter of town are packed with shops selling jewellery, clothes, local artefacts, pottery and bric a brac.
As for beaches the choice is huge – from quiet coves to popular bays with bars, restaurants and water sports activities, the full spectrum is available, including a lovely one for naturists in the Natural Park, with two excellent restaurants.
The pretty, moorish village of Otívar hugs the mountainside and boasts several excellent restaurants, all with captivating views over the tropical fruit orchards of the green valley towards the mountains. A 30 minute drive out of town takes you to the waterfalls of Otívar where you can swim in the cool mountain streams and pools, and picnic on the shady banks. The exclusive Marina del Este is the place to go to admire the luxury yachts. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on the quayside in one of several restaurants and watch the comings and goings. Day trips and longer charters can be arranged.
Granada is 1 hour by car for a visit to the Alhambra Palace, a must-see World Heritage Site. For the literary minded the world renowned poet Lorca’s childhood home, now a museum, is open to visitors throughout the year. Modern air-conditioned coaches ply the route regularly; the scenery en route is worth the ticket alone, including the awesome dam at Rules which the new motorway crosses.
Historians will have much to discover about the area’s moorish influences, as well as reminders of Spain’s more recent turbulent past. Let us know if you want more info.
Nerja with its spectacular caves is a 20 minute drive down the motorway, or take the old road which hugs the coast – a great drive with even better views.
The Alpujarras in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range are well worth a day out – the mountain scenery and vegetation being very different to the coast. Made famous by the ex Genesis drummer Chris Stewart in his best seller “Driving Over Lemons”, it’s the land that time forgot with ancient mountain villages clinging to the high slopes of the Sierra. From autumn to early summer you can be above the snowline in under 2 hours.
From December to April there is great skiing, snowboarding, sledging in the Sierra Nevada for all levels of experience plus an excellent children's activity area. It is only an 80/90 minute easy drive door to door. The skiing village has a large selection of hire shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Many guests go just to relax with a coffee and enjoy the stunning views. It must be one of the few places in Europe where you can sit on the beach one day and go skiing the next!
The property itself is on an exclusive, lushly landscaped, hill top development and boasts stunning views across the valley towards the hills which give the area its exceptional climate. An end corner house with three floors, it is very private and peaceful. It is well situated, having Almunecar a few minutes down the hill on one side, and straight into beautiful countryside on the other.
The large, private terrace, with sunbeds, table and chairs and an electric canopy, provides a fantastic vantage point for al fresco dining, whether a late breakfast or an evening BBQ. Watch the parasailers gliding across the valley from their launching site on the distant hillside opposite, as you enjoy a drink. At dusk the swallows come out to hunt for their dinner, a wonderful sight.
The beautiful upper pool with panoramic sea views is open all year. Relax and enjoy it's pretty gardens. The infinity pool, also with great views, is open -mid.September.
Inside, the spacious lounge/diner with its two sofas, dining table and chairs, provides a comfortable space to relax, watch DVDs, TV (BBC news and English language films). There's a selection of books and DVDs for you to enjoy.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including that essential piece of equipment – a dishwasher.
Upstairs the tastefully furnished bedrooms are spacious, light and airy.
The master bedroom, with views to the sea, has a king size bed and fully equipped ensuite - including full size bath, bidet, loo, and separate large, walk in shower cubicle. It's own terrace with small breakfast table and two chairs, gives a luxury feel.
In the second bedroom there is a choice of double bed or two singles (an extra single is avail.) There is a separate bathroom a with full size bath, shower over, loo and wash basin.
There is also a 3rd loo.
