IslantillaIslantilla is a tourist resort, located along the Atlantic coastline, in the province of Huelva, in Andalusia. The area boasts beautiful white, sandy beaches and scenery of incomparable natural beauty. Around Islantilla there are plenty of leisure activities for those looking for a more
active holiday.
Travelling to Islantilla is easy, with the Portuguese Faro Airport just one hour’s drive. In addition, there are easily accessible airports at Seville 1.5hrs and Jerez.
BeachesThe beach at Islantilla is one of the best in Spain, and classified annually as a Blue Flag beach. You approach the beach through huge palm trees
and a catwalk.
About townIslantilla has excellent amenities, with two modern shopping centres, restaurants, bars, shops, a supermarket and a useful tourist information office. There is a second shopping mall located within the golf resort area.
Islantilla has a small medical centre, the nearest hospital is at Huelva, approx 25 minute drive.
GolfThe Islantilla Golf Club is probably the most beautiful in the whole of Andalusia; the spectacular 27 hole layout was designed in the most pure parkland style, set in a pine wood landscape and boasting incredible sea views.
The interesting and high quality course is home to Pencross greens and a Bermuda fairway. Islantilla Golf Club opened in 1992 and houses a lovely colonial style clubhouse. The course is only 5-10 minute’s walk from most apartments in Islantilla.
Places to visit
As Islantilla is a recently created tourist complex, it draws on its founders Lepe and Isla Cristina and nearby Ayamonte for its traditions, culture, gastronomy, folklore and the typical charm of Huelva.
If you want to explore the culture of the area
visit the towns of Isla Cristina and Ayamonte. Head to the fishing ports to see the boats coming in full of fish and shellfish, observe the local markets, or take in the contrasts of the Lepe landscape, which combines the blue of the sea with the vast, coloured fields of strawberries and oranges.
The older town of La Antilla (about a 5 minute
drive) offers further shopping amenities, restaurants, supermarkets and cafes in a beach side location.
La Antilla has a tranquil and very long beach (22km). Whatever time of the year you come, you can enjoy the various water sports, cycling, horse riding and beautiful surroundings.

All these attractions are within a short driving distance of Islantilla. You can also visit Doñana National Park and the
beautiful city of Seville, which is just one hour away by car.
CuisineThe richness and variety of the local products
make the food one of the most attractive features of the area. Typical dishes include ray in red pepper, tuna with onion and cuttlefish with broad beans. These are complimented with a wide range of fried fish, prawns and clams.
Eating outYou can enjoy superb cuisine within inexpensive restaurants that overlook the sea.
